What is JEDI?
JEDI is Judo’s way of measuring our mood and getting feedback. It’s quick, easy and simple to do, and we need you to get in the habit of doing it weekly!
How long does JEDI take?
It takes less than 2 minutes to complete, plus the chance to chat to a bot (if you want to).
Will I get to see the results?
Judo’s results will be shared monthly with EAJ.
What is JEDI?
JEDI stand for Judo Employee Delight Index – it’s tool we use to measure our mood and gather feedback. It’s a different, more frequent way, of understanding how we’re tracking and follow the ups and down.
How often is JEDI sent out to everyone?
JEDI is sent every week.
I’m new to Judo, how do I get on to JEDI?
Please make sure that your phone number is entered correctly in J-PO, with your mobile number entered as ‘614xxxx’
Do I need my mobile phone to access JEDI?
Yes, you do! You will receive an SMS that will prompt you that your feedback window is open.
How are my responses in JEDI handled?
Your feedback is collected and stored anonymously – honestly! We have protections in place including the use of a secure 3rd party to run JEDI (Evolved Group) and limitations on filtering and sample size.
But your responses are critically important because they allow us to see what’s happening in Judo and try and change the things that aren’t working. JEDI comments and feedback has enabled us to review lots of the things we do including monthly EAJ calls, pay philosophy, Judo Tracks etc.

A little more about JEDI
The “Experience” is what happens every day. It could be your salary, your job, your manager or any number of things. For each of us these ‘levers’ affect us in different degrees. In many studies it’s been shown that your direct manager is the most important ‘lever’ but that’s not true for everyone.
These levers result in “State” and for our model this has three core elements (based on a number of well-known engagement models i.e.
- Physical Energy
- Emotional Connection (to work)
- Mental Acuity
But what does that matter. Well, put simply if you are engaged with your role then you will:
- Stay (Future Intent) at Judo
- Say (Advocate) nice things about Judo
- Strive (Discretionary Effort) to give extra
All very technical but we need everyone to be engaged to retain them, have them be Judo Champions and give us their best.
At Judo, Physical Energy is the biggest driver of engagement.
- In a recent study we found that the most important predictor of whether you’ll stay at Judo is not your answers to the “likely to be at Judo in 12 months’ time” question but your level of Physical Energy.
- Judo has a cycle – we get tired at the end of the financial and calendar year and our “January shutdown” has a massive impact on our energy (and all our metrics) proving that everyone needs a complete break every so often.
